The US COPD Coalition has joined other patient and provider organizations in urging Congress to provide funding to support implementation of the COPD National Action Plan that was developed by the Department of Health and Human Services. The letters, addressed to the Chair and Ranking Member of the House and Senate Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies requests that Congress “provide $25 million in new funding for the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute and an additional $3 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health to implement steps outlined in the COPD National Action Plan.”
